We don’t take enough time to explore our pain, our fears and our way of coping. We don’t ask often enough, ‘Why?’ Or even better ‘Why am I reacting this way? What am I hiding, running or protecting myself from?‘
Validating your painful experiences is not self-victimisation. Self-victimization happens when we blame others for things that happen us, at the same time, we cite them as the reasons why we are who we are, why we can’t move on, heal, grow and change our circumstances.
We need to be more reflective.
